Seth Harp Jr., Of Counsel

Seth Harp attended Auburn University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy. As a United States Marine, he served our country in Vietnam. Upon completion of his tour, he attended the Walter F. George school of Law at Mercer University where he earned his Juris Doctorate. He then served as a JAG officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Until 2010, Seth served as a State Senator for the 29th District of Georgia. In the Senate, he served as chairman of the Higher Education Committee and vice chairman of the Judiciary Committee. He was also a member of the Government Oversight, Special Judiciary, Joint Legislative Ethics and Appropriations Committees.

Mr. Harp joined our firm over thirty years ago, retiring from everyday practice in 2015. He currently serves as of counsel to the firm and remains a great resource with his wealth of legal experience and knowledge. During his career, he was well known as an accomplished attorney in the areas of family law and taxation as it relates to family law.

Seth is an author and has lectured on taxation and family law. He has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America and Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers in the areas of civil law and family law. He was a member of the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Law, where he served as an officer. Seth was a Certified Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
